I just saw the Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer, and it was great!
Overall, I thought it was very exciting. For now, the movie looks promising, as long as they keep the main focus on the Vulture in terms of villains. There have been reports of the movie featuring up to five villains.
Speaking of the Vulture, we only see Michael Keaton for a very brief moment in the trailer, and he says, “Don’t mess with, because I will kill you and everybody you love,” and he says this while he is in the driver seat of a car and he’s looking at the back seat. Please don’t tell me he’s going to find out Peter Parker is Spider-Man. So far, the only villain out of the nine of the ones they’ve put in all five Spider-Man films, only two of them have not discovered Spidey’s secret identity. We don’t need every villain to have this knowledge. However, it looks as though the writing team has put the Vulture to good use. The villain excels in open areas devoid of buildings, and it appears Spider-Man will fight him on a ship. If this turns out to be true, it would be a great fight to see because it could show just how formidable of a foe the Vulture really is, something the first Amazing film failed to fully achieve with the Lizard.
On the flip side, the movie is already being marketed as Marvel has said how they are making it, and that is a John Hughes-type coming-of-age story. We get to see Peter Parker as an awkward teenager, a protégé to Tony Stark, an up-and-coming superhero, and the quippy web-head the fans know him to be. And the last second of the trailer reveals something most fans possibly didn’t expect to see: Spider-Man and Iron Man in action together! Let’s just hope that the trailer-building team will keep those scenes under tight wraps.
Even if the movie disappoints, Tom Holland will be a saving grace for the whole ordeal. This is a great trailer and I look forward to seeing more footage of Spider-Man: Homecoming! Only seven months to go until the movie is released!
